The ground cover consists of grasses and herbs, which were either sheltered by higher plants, or grew in clearings and open spaces .Apart from the valleys and the lowest parts of the slopes, the mountains as a rule have only rock-desert or lichen vegetation .In the study area, the angle of slope averaged 35°, with continuous grass cover except on rock outcrops and boulders. Grass height was mostly c. 50 cm, but somewhat shorter, averaging 350 on steep slopes, and with scattered, even shorter patches .

earth fault
occurrence of an accidental conductive path between a live conductor and the Earth
NOTE – The conductive path can pass through a faulty insulation, through structures (e.g. poles, scaffoldings, cranes, ladders), or through vegetation (e.g. trees, bushes) and can have a significant impedance.
[IEV number 195-04-14]FR
[IEV number 195-04-14]Параллельные тексты EN-RU
The earth fault, caused by an insulation loss between a live conductor and an exposed conductive part, represents a plant engineering problem which may cause damage to the electrical installations and above all may jeopardize people; as a matter of fact, people could get in touch with an exposed-conductive-part not normally live but which, due to the fault, might have a dangerous potential to ground.

slash and burn culture
A traditional farming system that has been used by generations of farmers in tropical forests and the savannah of north and east Africa. It is known to be an ecologically sound form of cultivation, and because the soil is poor in tropical rain forests it is a sustainable method of farming. It is still practised today, primarily in the developing countries. Small areas of bush or forests are cleared and the smaller trees burned. This unlocks the nutrients in the vegetation and gives the soil fertilizer that is easily taken up by plants. A few years later the soil is degraded and the farmer moves on to do the same at another site. The original ground is left fallow for anything up to 20 years so that the forest can regenerate. With the growth in population and in the subsequent need for more farming land to produce food, the method is increasingly being used today to clear large areas of tropical forests for cattle ranching, and in most cases the ground is not left fallow for long enough and, with modern mechanized farming systems, not enough tree stumps or suitable habitats for plant life are left to start the regeneration process.
tundraIn the Old World the word generally used is tundra, a term originating from the Finnish word tunturi meaning a treeless plain. The tundra everywhere is dotted with lakes, transected by small streams and covered with low heath, although in more sheltered places and along river courses and lake shores there are rather high shrub. Where the ground is moist extensive bogs exist, while in the driest parts and in places that are particularly exposed to the wind or where soil is very poor and scanty, the vegetation does not form a continuous cover and the plants are scattered, so that the bare underground is the dominant feature of the landscape. .
